Welcome to Dinner in Ten Minutes.
So what’s it all about?
I don’t know about you, but spending hours in the kitchen isn’t always my favorite pass time. Now, don’t get me wrong, there are times when I’ll happily spend hours in the kitchen preparing savory delights and scrumptious desserts, but I don’t want to do that day in and day out – and unless you’re a chef I’m guessing you don’t either. But, don’t we all still want to eat tasty and healthy food?
Having spent thousands of hours in the kitchen cooking meals for my family, I’m convinced there are plenty of options out there for dinner in ten minutes. And that’s what this website is about. Being able to get a tasty meal on the table, night after night, and still be sane by the end of the week.
What do I mean by Dinner in Ten Minutes?
Okay, so here it is. Please don’t hold me to exactly ten minutes. Some of my ideas might be a bit less, or a bit more than ten minutes. The ten minutes might relate to the preparing time, the cooking time or both. For example, you might spend ten minutes preparing dinner, but it will take 1 hour to simmer away in the oven. Also, if you really like a recipe and prepare it a few times, you get quicker at making it . Each post will clearly indicate what’s what.
Will I blog about anything else?
You bet. I’ve learned a few things over the years and of course I want to share them with you. For example, I’ve added a Cooking Tips Category that you might like to check out. Of course, I’m hoping you’ll also share some ideas with me.
So am I a Professional Chef?
As far as my two teenage boys are concerned, I’m the boss in the kitchen, but that’s about as ‘professional’ as it gets. I’m not a professional chef….and wouldn’t want to be. I’ll apologize now to any professional chefs reading this blog. I’m likely to come up with some short cuts and solutions you might not agree with. But busy moms do what they can to provide the best for their families and dinner in ten minutes reflects some of my ideas to achieve success in the kitchen department.
Above all else, have fun in the kitchen, whether it be for ten minutes or several hours – and have even more fun sitting around the dinner table with your family and friends eating your culinary efforts.
