One of my sons just loves pasta with pesto.  My other son also likes it but decided to spice it up a bit.  This recipe is his spiced up version – and it’s delicious .

We’ve called it Tuna Pasta with Pesto and Red Capsicum.  You might also enjoy Tomato Pasta and Prawn Pasta.

When you really can’t be bothered cooking, this is one of those meals you might just muster the energy to make.  It’s as simple as beans on toast!

Once the pasta is cooked it will take only minutes to add the other ingredients.  Tips on cooking pasta.

Tune Pasta with Pesto and Red Capsicum

This recipe will serve around four people, but you can add as much pesto, tuna and red capsicum as you like.

Here goes:-

Tuna Pasta – Ingredients

  • Enough pasta for 4 people
  • Ready made jar of Pesto
  • Large tin of Tuna – well drained and roughly flaked (tuna in olive oil is my favourite)
  • Ready roasted red capsicum – readily available from most supermarkets – chopped into small pieces
  • Grated Parmesan Cheese to serve

Tuna Pasta – Method

  1. Start cooking the pasta
  2. When the pasta is cooked to your liking, drain and return to the pan
  3. Add the jar of pesto and stir through
  4. Add the tuna and red capsicum and stir through
  5. Serve immediately with grated Parmesan Cheese

Seriously, how easy was that.

    Hello Jan,

We have Tuna Pasta Bake in our house at least once a week. But I have to admit that I have not tried Tuna Pasta with Pesto and Red Capsicum. It sounds so yummy – will have to give it a go 🙂 I love putting out Tuna Pasta into the oven with cheese and then serve with Garlic Bread and Salad.

    Looks so yummy.
    Cheers

I also have a daughter who loves her pasta.

I do sometimes make tuna pasta, so this would make a nice change from the one I usually make.

One of these days, I will actually attempt to cook and succeed… It’ll be one of your recipes at first, and you’ll be so proud of me Jan! Now that I’m a new mum, I have a new reason to try. These recipes give me confidence that I can do it! LOL!

  6. I love tuna pasta. It was one of my staple dishes that I had every week about 8 years ago (wow, how time passes). Unfortunately my wife isn’t a fan of tuna, so for practicalities sake I don’t have it often anymore.

  7. I absolutely love pasta and pesto and putting capsicum and tuna in it would certainly make it yummo. This is such a quick and easy recipe. Thanks
